Hel-lo... I'm Sophie! Smart Me Kid Sophie! I met Smart Me Kid Melia when her family moved to Maryland for her father's military assignment at the Pentagon, which is near Washington, DC. Her family moved into my neighborhood and we became friends. Melia and I are different in many ways. One big difference is that Melia has a disability called Down syndrome, but I do not have a disability. Our differences did not keep us from getting to know one another, though. I love how kind and sweet and funny Melia is, and she will forever be my friend! I, like Melia, love to read, and math is my favorite subject in school. I also enjoy playing tennis and bicycle riding, as well as hiking in the mountains with my family. I want to be a pediatrician when I grow up. A pediatrician is a medical doctor who takes care of children. I know that I have to study hard and learn all that I can in order to be a pediatrician one day, but… I am up for the challenge!
